1933 March Founded the original Daimaru Kogyo Ltd. (capital: JP¥5 million)
1943 July   Merged with Daimaru Inc. (dissolved the original Daimaru Kogyo Ltd.)
1948 August   Established Daimaru Kogyo Ltd. (headquartered in Osaka and capitalized at
JP¥1 million)
1951 September   Opened Tokyo Branch (current Tokyo Headquarters).
1965 May   Opened New York Representative Office.
1966 March   Established Daimaru New York Corporation (DNYC) to take over NY Representative Office.
1968 August   Moved Osaka Headquarters to Kita-kyuhoujimachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka.
1977 December   Increased capital from 400 million JP Yen to 600 million JP Yen.
1985 March   Opened Nagoya Branch (current Nagoya Office).
  April   Established Kasuga Shiitake Co.
1988 August   Opened Taipei Branch (current Taipei Office).
1989 February   Annual sales exceeded JP¥100 billion.
April   Moved Tokyo Headquarters to the current location (Kiba, Koto-ku).
1990 March   Opened North Kanto Office (current Kita-kanto Office).
1991 March   Opened “Quality Control Center” for quality improvement and stabilization for test production of Nissan parts (Ota-ku, Tokyo).
  July   Opened Ho Chi Minh Office.
1992 June   Authorized by Nissan as "designated inspection free parts supplier".
1993 March   Established Daiko Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Bungotakada, Oita, capitalized at JP¥50 million and 100% owned by Daimaru Kogyo).
1994 March   Opened Hong Kong Branch (current Electronic Device Div., Hong Kong Electronic Device Team).
  October   Opened Seattle Representative Office.
1997 October   Established Daimaru Kogyo International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Capital: US$200,000 (100% investment)
1998 March   Established Daimaru Communications USA Inc. (capitalized at US$300,000 and 100% owned by DNYC) to take over Seattle Representative Office.
August   Osaka Headquarters obtained ISO9001 certification.
1999 March   Took over trading business of Daimaru Inc., absorbed Myanmar Branch of Daimaru Inc. into our Myanmar Branch (current Yangon Office) and took over the business of Daimaru U.S.A., Inc. (Seattle, capitalized at US$100,000)
  March   Tokyo, Nagoya, Kita-kanto and Fukuoka offices obtained ISO9001 certification.
  May   Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kita-kanto and Fukuoka offices obtained ISO14001 certification.
2000 January   Daimaru U.S.A., Inc. took over business of Daimaru New York Corporation (dissolved) and Daimaru Communications USA Inc. (dissolved), increasing capital to US$600,000, and also took over business of New York Representative Office.
April   Hong Kong Branch obtained ISO9001 certification.
2001 February   Closed Singapore Representative Office (opened March ’94), Paris Representative Office (opened Jan. ’98) and Melbourne Representative Office (opened Jan. ’98). Daimaru Kogyo New York Representative Office took over Daimaru U.S.A., Inc. New York Representative Office.
2003 November   Opened Nansha Office in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China.
December   Closed New York Representative Office.
2004 February   Dissolved Daiko Co., Ltd. (liquidated in May)
  May   Introduced an executive officer system.
  July   Increased capital of Daimaru Kogyo International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to US$2 million from US$200,000.
  December   Opened Dalian Representative Office (current Daimaru Kogyo International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Dalian Branch).
2005 May   Increased capital from JP¥600 million to JP¥1.2 billion.
2006 May   Increased capital from JP¥1.2 billion to JP¥1.8 billion.
November   Established in Dalian, a branch of Daimaru Kogyo International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and took over the business of Dalian Representative Office.
December   Dissolved and liquidated Daimaru U.S.A., Inc.
2007 February   Transferred all of the shares of fully-owned subsidiary Kasuga Foods Ltd. (former Kasuga Shiitake Co.)
February   Opened Bangkok Office.
June   Moved Osaka Headquarters to the current address (Bingo-machi, Chuo-ku, Osaka)
2008 January

Following renewal in 2005, renewed company-wide ISO9001/14001 certification obtained in 2000 and 2001 respectively.
  March Shifted from a fully-owned subsidiary of The Daimaru, Inc. to a fully-owned subsidiary of J. Front Retailing Co., Ltd., a joint holding company inaugurated through management integration between The Daimaru, Inc. and Matsuzakaya Co., Ltd.
  August Closed Fukuoka Office. (Kokura Office was relocated and opened as Fukuoka
Office in 1969.)
2009 January Established Jakarta (Indonesia) Office.
  February Took over the operation of Tokiwa Shokai Co., Ltd. (an insurance agency) as part
of JFR Group’s reorganization of its affiliates into “one company per sector”.
  November Received ISO 27001 certification at nine business sites including offices in Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kita-Kanto, Oita, Hong Kong and Nansha; Daiko Care-Reform Showroom in Sakai; and Quality Control Center.
2011 Jan Appointed Hisashi Arisawa as President and CEO.
2011 May Certified as an inspection-free manufacturer by Nissan Research Center, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., for the 20th consecutive year (since 1992).
