It is no exaggeration to say that Daimaru Kogyo’s Electronic Device Department is all about printed circuit boards. A printed circuit board is a circuit board on which electronic parts are mounted. Printed circuit boards play a number of roles, such as transmitting signals and sending electric power. Without printed circuit boards, electronic devices would not work almost without exception, so they are important electronic components.
In the 15 years since I was assigned to the Electronic Device Department, I have been involved in the development and design of all kinds of printed circuit boards. Our department has been doing business with a customer that manufactures and sells electronic equipment that is enjoyed around the world, delivering a majority share of their printed circuit boards.

Challenge to a difficult build-up board.

The technology of electronic components is evolving at a rapid pace with the times. We, who are in charge of development, design, procurement, etc., must constantly gather information and never stop taking on challenges and learning if we are to continue meeting the needs of our customers.

Around 2010, electronic equipment was not as complex as it is today, and a simple through-hole board was sufficient. However, as the technology of electronic components evolved and became more complex, it became impossible to cope with conventional simple boards, so we decided to attempt incorporating more advanced build-up boards.

A build-up board is a board that is layered and joined together. For example, if the through board is 1, then 6 layers will allow wiring with more than 6 times the content.

At that time, there were few manufacturers and factories that could produce these build-up boards, but with our partner companies, we determined what specifications and contents were possible to produce, and were able to design and complete them from scratch. Today, build-up boards are becoming the norm, but we believe that technology will evolve day by day and make our lives richer and more enjoyable because there are people who are willing to take on the challenge. As such, we will continue to make efforts and gather information every day.
