1. Privacy Policy

Daimaru Kogyo, Ltd. (the “Company”) strongly recognizes the importance of personal information protection. As well as abiding by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we have developed and comply with voluntary standards to appropriately protect personal information in the course of daily business activities. Particularly, your personal information is essential for us to provide services to you and we think that it is our social responsibility to appropriately and legally handle such information in a way you can trust. Therefore, in order to ensure the protection of your personal information, we will comply with the following items.

  • We will clarify the purpose of use and obtain consent from you before collecting personal information from you.
  • We will use personal information collected from you within the scope of the purpose of use to which you consented.
  • We will continue to take necessary and appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information and its loss, falsification and leakage.
  • We will appoint persons responsible for protecting and managing personal information and will educate, enlighten and regularly audit employees to ensure the appropriate handling of your personal information.
  • We will not provide your personal information to any third party unless prior consent is obtained from you or such disclosure is legally required by the provisions of laws and regulations or needed to protect important interests including public life and property.
  • When outsourcing the handling of your personal information, we will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over the outsourced party to ensure the secure management of personal information.
  • We will strive to keep your personal information accurate and up to date. We will set up contact points to respond to your requests for disclosure, correction and suspension of use of your personal information to the extent reasonable.

2. How the Company handles your personal information

  • 1. Collection of personal information

    The Company has thorough safety control measures in place so that the Company are able to collect personal information to the extent necessary for business operations and by legitimate and fair means.

  • 2. Purpose of use of personal information

    The Company uses the personal information collected from you to the extent necessary for the following purposes.

    1. (1)Sale of products and provision of related services in the alcoholic beverage retail business, such as product delivery, receiving orders, reservations, and layaways
    2. (2)Sales promotion activities such as information on products and various special offers, etc., in the alcoholic beverage retail business

    *In case of emergency, the Company may contact you based on information collected from you including your family information and delivery address.

  • 3. Shared use of personal information

    1. (1)The Company shares personal information with the companies in J. Front Retailing Group (the "Group Companies").

    2. (2)The Company and the Group Companies will share personal information to the extent of the purpose of use specified above.
    3. (3)Items of personal information to be shared include name, address, phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, occupation, title and buying history.
    4. (4)The Company will take responsibility for managing the shared use of personal information the Company have collected. When we receive a request for disclosure, correction, deletion, etc. of personal information obtained and shared by the company with which we share personal information, we will cooperate with the said company as necessary.
  • 4. Providing third parties with personal information

    The Company will not disclose or provide your personal information to any third party, excluding any of the following cases.

    • (1)In cases where your consent is obtained;
    • (2)In cases where the Group Companies share your personal information to the extent specified in Article 3. "Shared use of personal information";
    • (3)In case where it is necessary for the Company’s contractors to perform contracted services;
    • (4)In case where disclosure of personal information is required by the provisions of laws and regulations;
    • (5)In case where it is necessary to protect human life, body and property; and
    • (6)In case where it is required under laws and regulations by national organizations, local governments or parties entrusted by them.
  • 5. Implementation of security control measures

    In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information and the loss, falsification, leakage, etc., of personal information, the Company will implement the following measures and appropriately manage your personal information.

    (Formulation of Basic Policy)
    1. (1)To ensure the appropriate handling of personal information, the Company have formulated and published a basic policy regarding "Compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information" and "Contact for Inquiries Regarding Personal Information", etc.
    (Development of Rules for Handling Personal Information)
    1. (2)Personal information protection management rules are formulated specifying handling methods, responsible person and person in charge, and their duties, etc., at each stage of personal information handling.
    (Organizational security control measures)
    1. (3)When outsourcing the Company's operations that handle personal information, the Company will specify in the contract the matters necessary for the protection of personal information and provide necessary and appropriate supervision.
    2. (4)The handling of personal information is periodically audited by other departments.
    3. (5)A manager responsible for the protection of personal information is appointed and his/her responsibilities are clarified.
    4. (6)A reporting and communication system is developed in the event of a violation of laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information or personal information protection management rules, or in the event that a leak or other incident may have occurred.
    (Human security control measures)
    1. (7)Training and education are provided for employees who handle personal information.
    2. (8)Appropriate supervision is provided to employees, etc.
    3. (9)The employment regulations specify matters related to the protection and appropriate management of personal information and the maintenance of confidentiality.
    (Physical security control measures)
    1. (10)Appropriate measures, such as storing personal information in a lockable location, are taken to prevent theft or loss of electronic devices, documents, etc., that handle personal information and to prevent unauthorized access to personal information.
    (Technical security control measures)
    1. (11)Access control is implemented to limit the scope of person in charge and personal information handled.
    2. (12)A system to protect electronic devices that handle personal information from unauthorized external access and unauthorized software is in place and operated appropriately.

    *In addition to the above, the Company implement measures necessary for the appropriate management of personal information according to the characteristics of each department.

  • 6. Disclosure, correction and suspension of use of personal information

    Requests for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, etc., of personal information or disclosure of records pertaining to provision of personal information to third parties will be accepted at the contact point below and handled promptly to the extent reasonable and necessary.
